Day of the Dead, a Mexican tradition that transcends time

In pre-Hispanic times, the cult of death was one of the basic elements of the culture. When someone died, they were buried wrapped in a mat and their relatives organized a party to guide them on their journey to Mictlán. They also placed food that they liked in life, in the belief that they might become hungry.

Music is the universal language of humanity.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Women and men participate in folk dances that weave a tapestry of myths, legends, tales and traditions of the country. Mexican folk dance, or danza folklórica in Spanish, reveals as much about the soul of the dancer as it does the cultural richness of Mexico.
